Halloween
We had so much fun trick-or-treating with Mr. Incredible tonight! What a fella -- he is at such a fun age, just so excited to do anything that is different...and he kept saying "How come I have soooo much candy? I don't have room for any more!"...Oh yes you do, Jonah -- believe me, you do!!
I wasn't allowed to go trick-or-treatin' when I was a kid...well -- I did once or twice, until Mom and Dad got convicted about it...swayed by their congregation's opinions, whatever...anyways...whatever the reasons...I think its quite fun, going to friends' houses, with our happy little boy who is eager to get a laugh and candy from anyone and everyone!
So fun! And I only stole one little chocolate bar from his stash. so far.

32 Weeks (and 2 months 'til Christmas!)
Its after 11:00 pm, and my fave show, Parenthood, is NOT on...so, I really must take advantage, and get my TIRED little self to bed, but...just thought I should post on the day that is 8 weeks until my due date...no belly pic tonight, though. This Mama's too tired. That's all. My baby, however...active little babes at night...just like big brother, Jonah. Big brother, Jonah...i can't believe that little guy is going to be a big brother very soon. He talks about the baby soooo much. He's gonna be such a great brother. I can't wait to see him love this baby in 'real' life.
'Night.

Our little "Baby-moon"...
So...we did it. After 6 years of saying we should go to Cape Breton in the Fall...we finally did it. We thought it might be nice to get away, even just for one night, just the two of us, before Baby #2 comes...and I am soooo glad we did. We had the BEST time -- Cape Breton is breath-taking, to say the least. We had perfect weather...and just enjoyed being together -- and were confident Jonah was having the time of his life with his Aunt Erin at home. We did miss him, of course -- but we seriously just had so much fun together. Pictures do NOT do this place justice -- though I'm sure a nicer camera could capture it a little better than mine did...here's just a few of the many, many pictures I took. We took our time and stopped whenever we felt like it...which also meant, we missed the ferry on the way back home, literally, but less than a minute -- the lady waved us to keep going - and when we got to the ferry, the 2 men walked down and said "too late"...luckily there is a Bridge - and it didn't take too much longer than the ferry would have. Other than that one tiny disappointment...it was a perfect weekend. Here's a few pictures to entice those of you who live 'away'...to come a little closer, and enjoy this beautiful land...AFTER you visit us in PEI, of course!!

30 weeks (and definetely counting!)
Jason thinks I just forget, and that I was, indeed, uncomfortable when I was preggers with Jonah-boy, but...I KNOW - without a shadow of a doubt, that I was definetely NOT THIS uncomfortable. Mercy - I have 10 weeks, give or take, left to go...and I have had MANY moments of panic thus far in my pregnancy, counting down how many more months and weeks I have yet to go before this baby is OUT. Seriously - in the night, when I wake up to pee...sometimes its hard to go back to sleep, to lay down, and feel this active wee one inside me moving all around, inhibiting my sleep...and to not feel panicky about having a living, moving PERSON inside my belly. Isn't it the craziest thing?! I mean, really: there's a live human in.my.belly. Wild. I do love it, most of the time, but...sometimes I feel incredibly anxious about how I feel...wondering if I will ever feel GOOD again. I hate dieting - and don't have much intention of ever dieting, per se -- but...I need to get myself feeling better. January - the month of resolutions and new beginnings...couldn't come at a better time this year. Here's hoping I will NOT have a c-section this time, and will be good and ready to start MOVING again after this little one is OUT and in my arms, rather than my belly. After a month of delish food and Christmas-ing...it will be time...I can't wait.
In the meantime, however...I am trying to not beat myself up too badly for my lack of...participation, at times, in....life. ha. Like yesterday, at our family Thanksgiving...though I felt incredibly guilty most of the time, I did not do one single dish after our meal was done. I sat on the deck, soaking up every bit of breeze and sunshine while my older sister and Mom cleaned up...seems like the appropriate job for an older sister and Mom, anyways, wouldn't you agree?! Just kidding, Lor -- if you happen to read this. But -- thank you, just the same.
So -- now that I've shpeeled off some words, I will go lie this weary body down on the couch before Jonah wakes up from his nap...and before I trudge off to work. Its a rough life.

Reese's Peanut Butter Cheesecake Brownies
Seriously. Try these...you will NOT regret it. I tried taking a picture, and believe me...this website's is much better...so i take no credit for this:
...and the recipe is right there, too. I assure you, though its never cheap to make a yummy dessert...this is worth it. Delish. And I used this recipe, instead of the box recipe for the brownies. Do it. So. good.

Apple Picking
I had the best day. I feel quite tired, so I'll just post a picture to commemorate such a great day with my 2 favorite people. We had a wonderful day, just us...

My life lately...
...as of today, I am 29 weeks pregnant. Which means, baby is about 2.5 pounds -- and my belly is...growing rapidly, to say the least. Which also means, more pressure on that darn sciatic nerve, which is basically my main complaint besides feeling extremely tired. I'm quite excited to finally meet this babe, and be a family of 4! Hard to believe.
...today I had my THIRD root canal. oh joy. I'm wicked hungry, but my mouth is still very frozen, so...I will try to wait a little longer to indulge my appetite. Which is hard to satisfy these days.
...involves frequent trips to the bathroom. Which is serving 2 purposes in the night-time, at least: emptying my own bladder, and...waking my 3 and a half year old to encourage him to stop peeing in his diaper. He's been potty-trained for over a year, and still pees and often poops, in his diaper. We are working very hard at it, though. Every morning, he either is excited that he didn't poop, or he hangs his head and says "oh no...not again..." Poor little fella. He's trying, though. So - hopefully by the time baby #2 arrives, we will only have a newborn in diapers...we shall see.
...we started a small group at our house. We've been part of the same small group with people from our church for 5 years, and decided that this year it was time...so...lastnight was our second time meeting...and it was great! We're studying the book of James...and even though most of the people in the group are actually friends of ours...I realize, in the discussion about trials...how difficult it really is to be really vulnerable in sharing personally about trials. That will come, I'm sure, but...still. It was great. Nice to not have to head OUT on a rainy Monday night.
...I dyed my hair yesterday. Its quite dark, actually. Jason doesn't think it looks much different, but...Jonah assures me its 'boot-iful', little darlin'.
...I'm enjoying reading these days...mostly just mindless silly novels, but...still - something I'm enjoying, along-side all the TV shows I am loving these days. And fall knitting has started, too, to make me feel even just a tiny bit more productive as I sit on my butt and watch TV...
...I am dreaming of selling all we own, to travel the world, and see and take pictures of beautiful things. Feeling like I want to get away before this babe arrives, but knowing the furthest we can get ourselves is Nova Scotia -- mostly thanks to the free ferry pass I won awhile back from our local radio station. So...trying to be thankful that we can even get ourselves that far. Hopefully in the next few weeks...
...I really should put myself down for a nap. I work tonight, and know I will regret not having even a tiny little snooze before heading out when Jay gets home from work. So...I sign off.
...oh -- and I almost forgot: I bought croissant glazed doughnuts this morning from the Superstore....you cannot believe how delicious these things are. Once this freezing wears off, I will be devouring one of those sweet treats. For the baby, of course.
